Jacqueline Chavez

I’m Jacqueline Chavez - Product Designer, Creative Leader, and Design Strategist with over 17 years of experience.

I was born in Mexico City, where I earned my Bachelor's in Graphic Design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). I later completed a Diplomate in Advertising and Marketing and Web Design at UNAM. Additionally, I acquired a Digital Marketing certification and belong to the Interaction Design Foundation, where I have taken several courses, including Interaction Design, Research Methods, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, UX Management, Web Design for Usability, and Design Thinking. Currently, I am focusing on Accessibility.

In 2019, I moved with my husband to Austin, Texas, to work on an HCL project, starting my career in the USA. Subsequently, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on different projects and with various corporations.

In Mexico, I gained experience working on startups and with corporates like National Geographic Learning, Alsea, where I created exceptional user experiences for digital products, including web apps and native apps and other internal web applications.

In 2021, I started a project with Lowe’s Company, focusing on iOS and Android platforms. I optimized post-purchase features like installations, subscriptions, protection plans, BOPIS, order details, and checkout processes. I ensured cross-platform consistency and integrated user feedback into the design process, following best practices and enhancing the journey through validation with users.

In 2022, I faced a great challenge at Verizon. I enhanced the web E-commerce experience by focusing on identity verification for purchase security, improved shopping cart features, and led the design system migration to Figma. I applied user-centric design approaches to improve conversion rates and user interactions.

In 2023, I became the Lead UX Designer at the Georgia Department of Human Resources for a financial web app for child support. I played a pivotal role in the UX design of the Gateway and DCSS applications, streamlining government services on a unified platform. I conducted user research, created wireframes and prototypes, and collaborated with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. My focus was on crafting user-friendly interfaces and optimizing user experience through comprehensive research and usability testing.

Throughout my different opportunities and roles, I have loved solving problems through creative and design thinking. I am very passionate about UX and UI design and development. My experience has taught me that collaboration is the key to business success. On a daily basis, I am committed to building positive relationships with my clients, leaders, and vendors.

On a personal note, I am a cat lover and have a little cat named Finn who makes me happy. I am a fan of CycleBar and running to oxygenate my brain daily. I also love traveling with my husband and trying different cuisines from various countries.

I’m always keen to hear about new collaborations and exciting projects. Don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule a virtual or in-person chat!
